Welcome to Michael’s Table, a local family-run restaurant owned and operated by Dawn Bell. Since opening its doors in 2010, Michael’s Table has been a proud part of the Perth community, serving up classic Canadian comfort foods with heart and hospitality.

Originally launched as a mother-daughter venture between Penny and Dawn, the restaurant quickly became a local favorite. Penny, a seasoned industry expert, had already been running the beloved breakfast spot, Penny’s Place, for over 30 years. Dawn, having grown up in the restaurant world—washing dishes as a kid and serving tables as a teen—was ready for her next adventure. Fresh out of university with a business degree and working in Ottawa, Dawn embraced Penny’s idea of opening another restaurant in Perth. And so, Michael’s Table was born—a warm and welcoming spot where homemade North American classics take center stage.

Over the years, the dynamic has shifted from a mother-daughter team to a husband-and-wife partnership. Penny has since retired, passing the torch to Dawn and her husband, Matt, who now plays an active role in the restaurant’s day-to-day operations.

In February 2025, Michael’s Table underwent a six-week transformation, refreshing the dining room while staying true to its roots—creating an inviting and cozy space where people can gather, celebrate, and enjoy great food.

With homestyle cooking, craft cocktails and wine, and a welcoming atmosphere, Michael’s Table is the perfect destination for small and large gatherings, accommodating up to 100 guests for any occasion. Dawn and Matt pour their passion into every plate, collaborating with local businesses to feature high-quality, locally sourced ingredients—including craft beer, freshly baked bread, and decadent desserts.
